if only she had...

I'm not slagging off gaylanders as such.. maybe they are best in their class after all they invented a class practically..but I presonally think the japs do softroaders better... and cheaper...

my point is as a personal opinion (and not expected to be shared by others but none the less I reserve the right to express it) the entire softroader class is a bit pointless...

The Tag softroader is pointless I agree......but the freelander is not, we have been offroad in ours and its damned good, save for some obvious occasional clearance / height problems,

I also have a BMW 3 series which we used to use for family type work, shopping, day trips, towing the caravan etc, the freelander does all those things better as its easier to live with by fact its got a more versatile load space, more comfy ride, more stable and easier towing ability and can go offroad when needed, I also have a Discovery, which would also do all these jobs but is far too excessive in size and only used to tool around offroad :)

Just joined the forum tonight. :D Am thinking about a 1999/2000 FreeLander Diesel, reading some of the posts tonight, begining to think i maybe i maybe making a booboo! Everyone seems to be slagging them off! I won't be driving through rivers or going up mountains, just on the road. Come on guy's had my heart set on one, can someone restore my faith. Cheers :)

Hi. My eldest TD4 is 165k miles. They are 90% awesome and 10% pain.

you either have to put the time in to keep them sweet or have plenty of cash to pay the bills.

The secret is a good warranty.

I have owned and driven all types of Landrover since 1969.

Dann..

Every car/vehicle has its vices, for every bad post here is there is probably 10 happy owners elsewhere who dont even use the forums, fact is people tend to turn to the forums for any vehicle when they strike problems in search of answers whether large or small :)

We love ours atm - and its had a couple of small typical freelander problems, as already said the Dervs are definately the best option....IMHO also.
Gaylander owners of the world unite...........we luv em even tho tratter boys fink their ****e.......an still cant find me orange light:confused: :D :D

I still have a long way to go in terms of expense and aggravation with my TD4 Auto Freelander than I did with my TD5 Disco II Auto of the same year and similar mileage.
