I think I'm getting paranoid

So, I was gently moving down the lane to where I have to open the gate this morning and it felt as though a wheel was skipping on loose surface, except it is tarmac. As I concentrated there was a definite almost rhythmic lurch of no more than an inch as I crept along. Then I got to the main road and it was empty so I could come out easily but as I turned the steering there was a new noise from the front offside wheel. As I picked up speed all the noises were drowned by the engine/road noise and now I don't know if I want to check again or pretend it never happened.
I though owning a Disco was meant to be fun

have you got diff lock engaged?

What kind of Disco in the first place?

His profile says it's a Disco 2, Td5 engine, but it doesn't say anything about the year of manufacture.

Pretend it didn't happen, that's all I do whenever I think I've heard something 'wrong' now

Ignore it and it will either go away or get worse and tell you hat it is.

It's a 2001 TD5 Disco2 and after trying a nice slow drive on the way back this evening the weird 'snatching/judder/wheelspin' thingie wasn't happening so that must be while things are cold which I can ignore until October at least. The odd noise when going to full lock at low speed is still happening so obviously don't corner at low speed...simples
