Go and drive one if you can

that will soon bring you back to earth

I owned one 101 GS and I honestly can say i prefer driving a 109 11B FC

plus your knee cap lasts longer :violin:

Guess I'm going to have to drive one eventually and see.

I'm being deadly serious about this too. Even started buttering up she who must be obeyed. Lucky really that I have a partner that also appreciates LRs and likes mud (not wrestling, sadly)

there is a vid on you tube of one rolling but i can find it.Anyway the lads in it got airlifted off the lane...
Did find this though

that truly is a thing of beauty.

owned one back in '76, was fun but bloody thirsty even back then, draughty, noisy, damn awkward to change gear at times, heavy steering and not the best to reverse with. One is used down here on the lanes and it is just a bit large at times.

had 1 in mid 90s worst thing ( next to marrying bitch of an ex ) i ever did was get rid of it.
went all over europe in it with mates only major mod was fitting diesel heater into it.
also fitted second fuel tank as filled up at p.o.l point on barracks so fuel costs were nil.
would have another if money allowed, just totally impractical with 6 kids.
but if had money to have one would be able to keep 110 as well

IF I did go down that route, I'd probably diesel it up anyway.

For the cost of an engine swap suerly you would better spend the cash on an LPG conversion and still have that gorgeous V8 burble..............
especially if the middle box somehow strangly disappeared and then reappeared as a straight thru pipe like on my P38!
:D:D:D

Definitely go for it... I would keep the V8 and LPG it, but if you wanna go diesel, you gotta do it properly and put a Cummins 6BT in it.
