Hi All,

I have finally given up on my RR P38 4.6 HSE as yet another engine has gone tits up & I can not bring myself to spend another penny on it, please check out the for sale area as somebody just might grab themselfs a bargain, cheers for all your help, Ian.
 
i think i will follow your foot steps,i think i am starting to give up also on mine,i have my eyes fixed on the brand new kia rio 2012,i saw it in the showroom,0 km on the clock,astonishing good looking car,and being 195 cm long i couldn't believe how comfy it was in the driver seat,had alot of room left between my head and the roof,believe it or not,in the driver seat it is roomier than the p38,and it does 40mpg with the 1.4 16 valves engine,i will give my rangy one more chance than off it goes.

Item on Radio 4 about a week ago about a lady who couldn't get more than 21mpg from her brand new Kia. Kia took it back and worked it over and she gets 25mpg. Kia basically said tough, you shouldn't believe all the advertising.

I get about 30 out of my diesel P38.

Advertising is always a pack of lies
Land Rover said the Range Rover is a luxury vehicle in their advertising.
It if were true, they'd have installed underbody heating and lighting due to the amount of rudy time spent underneath it!!:doh: (tho credit to them for installing an under bonnet light!!:eek::D)

you are right but remember the rio 2012 with the new facelift i am talking about,not the 2011 old boring dull looking,there was a time i hated korean cars,but the 2012 man is breathtaking,the inside is very spacious especialy the front seats and the roof clearance,the back seats are a little bit crouded and feels odd siting in the back,it has pros and cons no doubt about it.
What i am affraid of is braking the damn toy if i drive it like i drive my baby,but my baby is broke most of the times so guess it is the same :doh:.
i love my rangy a lot, really i do,and if i let go of her it will be with tears but it is costing me a fortune and i feel everytime i drive it that something will blow up under the bonnet.ow man.once you drive a range rover everything else on wheels feels crapy.what a contradiction range rover is....:D

What's wrong with a gaylander? They're are (finally!) pretty reliable, nice driving position, very well equipped, comfortable ride and I think they look the best of the soft-roaders. Yes it won't chase a Defender up a mountain but then nor would a Jag XJR and that doesn't make it a bad car!

Depends what you want out of your car, some cars, like the Range Rover, are a pain in the arse but feel special so you put up with the hassle. Some cars are functionally excellent but bland, the i10 seats four adults in comfort, with standard aircon, rides nicely does a zillion miles to the gallon, is congestion charge exempt and costs less than a bit on the side, the icing on the cake is it has a 7 year warranty. In other words, for what you actually need of a car - it's excellent. Cheap, functional, reliable. The cars I don't understand are the ones with the running costs of the Range Rover and the blandness of the i10 - what's the point?
