I've actually been doing a much better job of judging the size of the car than I would have expected and I'm quite pleased with myself on that front.

My only real mistake was being too lazy to let air out of the tires so that I could get to the first garage level and turn around properly. Reversing out of the entrance ramp was an almost unavoidable disaster.

Yeah, it'll be where it belongs in Africa soon.. I'd change the topic title if I could. But after I leave Nene this time the build will be complete and I'll start a new thread for the journey

by the way, how many miles do you think your at now?

I got it with just over 9k miles, I think I'm somewhere in the mid 12k range now..

No height limit posted at the entrance to the garage, seemed tight but not too bad. Got worse as I went down the ramp further, until the last horizontal brace in the ceiling touched the top of the cage. Then I had to back out up a really steep curved ramp in the dark. Could have been much worse considering. I'm sure this is the first of many dents to come though. Fortunately will be at Nene on Monday and they can hammer it out..

No such thing as a defender without the rear panel either dented, scratched, bent, missing, ripped etc lol

Very nice tidy bus though did you sell your house to fund it lol

Finally I have an update! lol

I was nervous about how well it would be able to get straightened out, but...

So I'm very happy to not have added too much "character" so early on in the game.

Some more decals..

Finally time to tackle the inside..
Still a mess, maxtrax and camping chair suspended. Pull up bar is the black rod across the back. Also tracks were mounted in four places so that I can strap things down.

Finally it's all done inside and everything just fits!!

Unfortunately I had to fly back to NYC last minute, so the finished product is sitting in a parking lot for a bit, but I'll be back on the road and heading into Africa very soon..

Tony, Landy is looking good....what size tyres did you put on your Blindo's? Also did you have to do anything special to the Landy for the wheels? I am looking at a set and they are offest 25, are yours the same? Mine will go on my 90, disc front and drum rear.

265/75

I don't think they needed to do anything special at all for the wheels.

Car park was safe enough :D

Made it down to Spain and I'm getting myself ready to head into Morocco..

I'll probably start a new trip thread once I'm there.
