I cannot edit posts

I went to update my first post on the thread today as i did some work but i'm unable to edit that, or several others after that.

Is there a time limit for editing posts? If so is there a way around it as i'd like to keep the thread set up to be able to edit the first post whenever i do any work.

Also whilst i'm asking questions, how do i link pics from my gallery to a post?
