i can not rev over 3000?

hiya new to the site been flicking through it, and would like to see if other owners have had the same problem its a
landy discovery
200 tdi on a 1993
it starts up and drives fine until you go to ie:eek:ver take
just below 3000 revs it dies then picks up until 3000 again and then dies again?
i have put a new lift pump, cut out the filter by the tank out, new main filter, bleed it,
i have had it now for 6 weeks ,done a lot to it and love it when run well

why would you want to rev it over 3000 rpm anyway?

stuck wastegate or air filter;)

ceratinly sound like a fuel delivery problem, is the new lift pump working well?
 
nickh75, most people do like to over take more things then a milk float!!!try going on a motorway top end is 60mph.will have a look at wastegate,but even if you remove the air pipe from the intercooler and driver it it does the same,had a new air filter,
 
yes lift pump new and old is working great,i have it booked in on 4th june at RRN carlton,london hoping there can put there finger on it!!!at woodlands kent on this sunday hope i don'tneed over 3000 revs!!!

Can I just clarify, are you saying that if you disconnect the rubber hose between the 'cooler and the inlet manifold, it makes no difference to this problem??

If that's the case then somethings up with your turbo, pipes or turbo/wastegate relationship.
 
found out the trouble a few mouths ago but for got to log in and post
its was all down to a fuel filter,had to run a course one first then a the standard one,work very well now,
