new in this forum and first time, just bought a 2001 Td5 Defender and the alarm system is driving me nuts, the alarm remote (factory) is not consistent, sometimes i have to press the disengage button 15 maybe 20 times to disactivate the alarm, sometimes one time and at other times it just will not disactivate at all which means i can not start the Landy up, YET the alarm will sound and i can turn it off with the other button (the one to activate the system) not to mention that i have replaced the little round battery (C2025) in the remote at least 3 times. Ideally i would love to just disconnect the alarm system (always had Series IIIs with no alarms), can that be done? or do i have to take it to the nearest dealer so they can charge me 65 just so they can plug it to their computer and tell me what is up?!?!??? PLEASE HELP and ThanX!
