The Disco (non-ABS 300 TDi) has had a pulsating brake pedal since I acquired her so, obviously, she's got a warped disc. (If anyone objects to me referring to a car as "her", let me point out that she's called Vicky and I don't know many fellas with that name!)

Anyway, it's not bad but it is likely to upset the MOT tester.

Before I go and splash out on getting a full set of discs, any ideas on spotting which one's warped? (I promise I'll replace both discs on that axle).

No steering wobble just a bouncy pedal and less-than-smooth deceleration. Can't get both axles in the air at the same time but I can get both ends of one up.

Is this the excuse I need to buy a dial gauge?

jack a wheel up, diff lock out, chock the other 3 wheels, run in gear and lightly press the brake.
repeat with remaining wheels until you get the pulsing.

Wise words! Just don't try that with a Disco series 2 - traction control will get upset, as would the owner when it tries to jump over the chocks and off the jack  :D

Doh! I should have thought of that myself.

Couldn't feel anything through the pedal but the front discs have a heck of a lip on them and the rears look, well, horrible. Might as well book a day off work and swap the lot (following landowner's excellent link). At least I know they're good then.
