Who do I have to email or pm about reporting a bad seller on here discoWayne has had my money over two months and not had a reply or any connect since receiving my money. Have opened a dispute via PayPal but just want to give other buyers on here the heads up about the problems I'm having with him.
Jp

I have just had a look at his post history- he clearly joined to sell parts and tun people over:(

Maybe should have a policy where sellers have to make donations to your site so they can't abscond with just any old email addresse and you have there details and a years wait to put potential scammers off .

But then you loose all the genuine sellers who dont want to have to do all that just to sell that gearbox cheap (and passing on a bargain to us).

Alot of the time these people are 'genuine' sellers who are just lazy bastards and tend to ignore issues rather than resolving them. I have had a few encounters with people like this and there is not much you can do, your best options are to cover yourself first, always use paypal and send payemtn as purchase and not gift, check their previous posts as well and get addresses e.t.c.

I wouldn't do it unless under £20 like you after checking them out otherwise cash on collection that's it don't trust people it take one to know one and all that

Thing is .. I had a couple of bits of discowayne, and reported back on here that all was fine .. he'd done me a great deal, albeit the bits I wanted weren't exactly sparkling condition, but he threw in a spare diff etc

I've been to his house again since (twice) trying to get some bits back for one buyer (arranged via pm) who's lost £100 to him, 'cos I almost pass his place reasonably often, but he wasn't there .. and neither were his missus and kids or donor Disco!!

There's no 'real world' way to police this unless maybe we report back to the forum straight away whether we've had a good or bad time dealing with a seller. It's not up to the forum to actually 'do' anything, they're only facilitating the advert and connections .. we're dealing with many people sight unseen and hoping they're legit.

There is a forum option (not for us to select but the forums gods instead) to put in seller ratings like on eBay, Volkszone.co.uk use it and its quiet effective, like a feedback type thingy that you can quickly click on...

Oooooo you can be the police if you want.....All you have to do is take the details and then do nothing:D:D:D

This has been suggested before. It is being looked into but you would have to restrict Series71 from leaving feedback as he's a grumpy sod and everyone would get bad feeback;)

Wouldn't be easy to do but couldn't an account be set up for buyers to pay for items. The money would be held in this account until he/ she receives the item then the funds are released to the seller.

Think this solution would be to hard to implement though !

As Si has just said, the ratings thing has been looked into. We are currently running quite an old version of VB and hope that we can get upgraded in the next few months. Once we know what we are doing we will look at the pro's and cons of adding extra features.

Personally I would advise anyone who is buying from another member too look at their history. it's there for everyone to see, and with some it's obvious they aren't to be trusted.

Same **** different day, ebay or cash on collection-this isn't sell my ****.com

reuccurring situation new person joins and rips someone off 500 meaningful posts and 6 months membership would get rid of tat **** selling con artists
