Hi All, After 'Management' has finsihed with me walking the dog, I indend to fit my shiny new K&N filters - I'm thinking of starting a new club- Landys with Bling (.co.uk)...

Had a quick look at the task earlier, I cannot see a clear way of removeing the 'cow horns' that go from the carbs, connect together before the flexible hose goes to the air box.

Anyone taken them off to give me a head start?

Cheers.

For ref, the carbs come off a Factory Fit 3.5 90 1988

They just pull/twist off and have an 'O' ring to seal them.

Leave them on and just fit the K+Ns on the ends

all those k&n's will so is draw in hot air and also be apin to clean, sorry.

I was gonna put them on mine but you need cold air induction for performace and changeable filters to keep em clean in the mud/dust

Thanks Gents. I've just fitted them, carefully keeping the old bits as we all know that Fett is probably right - style over substance is the feeling I am getting..

A bit more advice if poss. On the left hand side (looking from the front), there is a breather pipe from the rocker cover, it goes to what I think is a Flame preventer, then onto the carb and onto the old air box. On the right hand side the breather only goes to the carbs, through a preventer.

The K&N's do not have anything to fit onto, do I just buy a preventer like the one on the right and lose the pipe to the air box? Is it OK to drive around with the open pipe in the mean time.

Cheers

what carbs are they mate?

strombersgs seem to have breathers and flame traps left right and center but my SU's only have two tiny ones.

Argh, embarrassing but true - I dont know -

Attached is a picture, can you identify?

Cheers
