how to id my gearbox

hiya
can anyone tell me how i can id my gearbox .
where should the stamping be?
im getting confused ?? LT or R38.
its in a m reg 110 300tdi

yours will be a 56a r380 ,but theres a raised piece of the casing just in front of drain plug,may need cleaning with fine emery to read

the 380 / lt77 issue fairly easy to solve if its running.... where is reverse??

top left 380

bottom right 77

no need to look at casings etc

gearbox x member is also a giveaway

Other way round isn't it Lt77 top left next to 1st

R380 bottom right below 5th
