how to fit paddocks snorkel to window frame

basically the instructions suck at this point, and im struggling to find out where i drill the holes, what size drill, and wether i use screws or nut and bolt to attach the angle frames to the windscreen.

please can someone help me with this problem.

just pop rivet the angle frames on

It's meant to be nuts and bolts. be careful though cos the hole spacing dimensions on the instructions for my snorkel were way out and it meant I ended up wit one of the holes through the thickest part of the pillar, right where the inner trim screw is meant to ave gone.

I used 6mm stainless nuts and bolts on my DIY jobbie.
If you take the A pillar internal trim off, you can see the best places to drill. The exact positioning isn't critical.

tis all done, and my god was it fidily.
ended up using fishing forceps to to hold the nut on the inside of the frame.
havent siliconed the whole lot in yet.

Keep an eye on they stainless bolts trew, stainless don't like vibration

Ah wanted tae put stainless bolts on me wheel carrier but was advised against it! Summit to do wi' vibration and weight and stainless bein' a wee bit brittle. Surely it would be ok fur a snorkel tho'?

There ain't a lot of weight in the snorkel... but it'll get bashed about by undergrowth and the like if you take it laning anywhere interesting

Mind you... which is stronger? A half rusted through bolt or an unrusted through stainless bolt? There's got to be pro's and con's to either I spose.

forget bolting it to the windscreen pillar. just clamp it to your roll cage

went out to see how air tight the snorkel was by covering the top with my hand, i could feel the air being sucked into the pipe, but even if i fully covered the snorkel pipe it wouldnt cut out.
it comes with a tube of silicone, so where do i apply it?

Where the air is getting in.

Do you smoke? If so, cover the end of yer snork and blowsmoke along the length of the tube. It'll git sucked in through the leaks.

have a look at the drain valve on the bottom of yer air box.

Spray wd40 on the joints. one at a time. If the revs pick up air is getting in on that joint. Also check the water drain valve on the filter box as previously said.

take it off and glue a plastic cover over and seal it off with silicone i reckon.

don't!
you still need it to act as a drain, so fit a decent one-way valve to it.
