Hi, first time I have joined a onsite club. I have owned L/ DISCO'S for 24 years and have a love hate relationship with them, (mainly hate.) Latest problems flexible hose before the cat is blowing just when i was going to arrange a cam belt change. So far had a quote to fix not using a LR parts of £1000. OUCH any advice please

Welcome, Disco questions go here https://www.landyzone.co.uk/forum/land-rover-discovery.8/
What model do you have? Sounds like flexi is a part of the cat going by the price.
On ebay you can get flexis to weld or bolt in for 20 quid or so, maybe suitable

Its a Disco 3, and i am to knackered to sort my self now days. I have seen some parts on Ebay in stainless steel for £229 which is a lot cheaper the Rimmers, but suspect a problem that might not fit so well.

Rimmers are quite often very expensive, I don't know which companies do D3 parts but would be worth checking Paddock Spares, Island 4x4 etc

The d3 exhaust down pipe flex is easy to get to on a pit/hoist.

But if you in fact mean the balance pipe (which I suspect you do at that price) on the back of the engine which also has flex bits in it, then its body off.

Is the car a manual or had recent gearbox work?
