Found the reason for my slow puncture today, big nail in centre of tyre. Tried phoning around and many closed half day as it's Saturday. Anyway, decided to try Kwik Fit and called;

"I've a nail in centre of my tyre can you fix it?"
"If you bring it in I'll look to see if it's repairable.
"It's in the middle so not near side wall"
"Still need to take it off & look"
"How much roughly?"
"£20 for puncture repair sir, what's the name please?"
Long dial tone heard at Kwik Fit....

Surely it can't be £20 for a puncture repair?

I got stuck with that from Kwik fit on a Sunday when I had no other choices, it's the new valve and the balance that they are shafting you for

I carry tyre plugs rubber cement and the tools wwith me all times:D:p:p

I carry the mushroom type ones in both the truck and the landy and the cord type ones in just the landy cos they are technically illegal for road use in the uk so I can't use em on customers vehicles but they are quite good at bunging up bigger holes/splits in tyres to get you home in an emergency.;)

Hell if it's on the tread face whats the deal got tyres that have done a few thousand miles on them, on the back axle of course;)
