no more than £70 the service kit is only £22- oil £15 if you buy it yourself then an hours labour £35 more than enough,
i just serviced mine and it cost me about £30 but i did it myself so no labour charges

Why pay a garage to carry out the simplest tasks like oil changes? Do it yerself ffs at least you'll know it has actually been done.

yes am just trying to gauge what people would be willing to pay per hour thats all. Or what they would consider to be a fair price.

if you take the advice given here and incorporate it into a working business plan you'll be out of business within a week - wrong place to ask for pricing advice mate

visited a local independent last week (Mister 4x4, just outside Hitchin) to discuss the upcoming MOT (April) and to get him to give the Disco a good lookover before I start towing the caravan about this year...£45/hr £45 MOT, thought that seemed reasonable..

people will pay what it's worth to them, some would pay £30-£70 when other people who are on a budget would obviously shop for the cheapest/best value, most people who have a bit of home machanic in them would do most basic servicing themselves.

Mobile machanics are very good value, the one looking over the nieghbours car last week charged £25 and hour, he had all the mobile welding equipment on the van too, i asked him to give me a qoute for a cambelt change if i bought the kit, he said £75 :D

so if you have to compete with them then it makes you think a bit...i know having a garage you have lots of overheads, unit, equipment ect. but i would really think about it, especially in the financial climate we are in now...but good luck with it, and i hope you make a go of it
