Hi all, basically I originally insured my landy for £3750 but since then It has changed quite a lot, I am trying to figure out what it is actually worth for the insurance, in the worst case scenario it were to be stolen (have two anti theft bits to try to prevent this). So the spec: 1986 ex-mod 110 hard top, reconditioned 200tdi discovery engine done by Glencoyne Engineering-3000 miles at present, three re-trimmed exmoor trim front seats and new covers, exmoor trim front and rear accoustic matting, chassis is completly immaculate and waxoyled, wolf rims with longer wheel nuts and micheln xzl`s-and spare, original gearbox, new door with pioneering tools and mounts, nato towing pintle, toolbox (it is a landrover haha) can`t think of anything else atm...

Thanks in advance!

The most you can without being told your smoking a crack pipe

What ever you think it's worth isn't going to be what the theiving unscrupulous insurance company think it's worth. A lot of insurance quotes online give you a " market value " figure when you fill in your registration number.

My 1992 genuine 200tdi with 79k on, good chassis reasonable bodywork has an agreed insurance value of £5.5k on it.

You can get agreed value insurance policies that should your Landie get stolen guarantees what you will get paid out.

I have it on my Landie.

It's basically a classic 4x4 policy.

As I said mine has an agreed insurance valuation of £5.5k on it.

This is mine

Henderson Taylor will "agree" a value, you send them photo's with what you think it is worth, and then they give you an "agreed value".
So if it gets pinched that's what you get. What would it cost you to replace it like for like? £6,000? They don't generally argue, unless you are way off.

Insure it for replacement value, take the figure you paid for it, add to it the cost of the modifications, and insure for that.

The "agreed value" thing offered to me was another policy on top of the vehicle insurance policy, it was supposed to pay the difference between the main insurance final payout and the agreed value, the "agreed value" policy cost about £40 extra.

Questioning the agent regarding the main insurance policy revealed they will replace/payout for all mods with new like for like, as long as I held the proof recipts, so the extra "agreed value" thing seemed a waste of money.

I used to have a "top up" policy on my Land Rover.

But now you can get a single policy that covers an agreed value.
