how many thermostats on a td 5

hi . how many thermostats are there on a td5. the reason i ask is on e bay if you put in thermostat discovery td5 there are 2 different types shown .1. what i would call a conventional type stat. 2 a plastic tube with 2 pipes into 1 with what i assume is a sealed with thermostat inside. many thanks

Which model Disco have you got?

TD5 has one which is the same as the V8, hangs in the bottom hose, white plastic housing with three ports on it.

Defender TD5 may be different.

no, fenders the same

I confirm, Td5 has only one kind of stat, the one with built in bypass flow valve:

On the left hand (driver's side) of the radiator, hanging on the pipes, number 24 in the picture.



Just so as the V8 boys won't feel left out, thermostat is number 20:

Thanks mate .. My heaters are not getting very hot got the thermostat the other week but just not got round to fitting it
