How many made in each colour ??

Is there anywhere to find out how many Range Rover P38 were made in each colour.?
I know mine is quite rare , but would like to know how many were made in same colour as mine , Monte Carlo Blue,

I've got two friends with them in the same colour!

Grab a book by James Taylor called Range Rover: The Second Generation

Brilliant reference book, will give details of models, colours, limited editions, history, design....basically everything!

Yours is rarer than you think, I've scrapped hundreds in that colour.

Have you got the paint code from under the bonnet, as Monte Carlo Blue isn't coming up as a P38 colour option....is on the L322 and is a light-ish blue....



Although there are some P38's re-sprayed in that colour...



And Classics....



And Discos...



...And Freelanders...



...also Defenders....



....and (sadly) the Ejoke....

Its the original paint colour. Mines a 4.6 vogue.

Looks the same as the P38 you just posted.

If you have the paint code from the VIN plate maybe it was originally called something else when the P38 was brought out....as Monte Carlo Blue isn't listed.....

Icelandic Blue (colour 621) is very very similar - Introduced from September 2001

Yep...608 is Monte Carlo Blue....

How interesting. First one I have seen in factory Monte Carlo Blue....

608 is listed as a Land Rover Colour introduced in 2001, but it was not specific to one model and was used over the entire Land Rover brand....but how many were Range Rovers...I have no idea.

Would anyone know how rare mine is in Cobar blue? 624. I've only ever seen one other and the odd discovery.

Cobar Blue was offered on the 1998 Limited Edition model, the dHSE, this is based on the HSE model from 1998 aside from no fog lamps (as it is a diesel) and oddly no mudflaps either!

600 examples were made of the dHSE which came in colours: Cobar Blue, Epsom Green, Niagra Grey, Oxford Blue, Riola Red and White Gold.

Body coloured bumpers, mirrors and sills.

All colours except White Gold had a single cream coach line and fitted with 16" Stratos Alloys with the wider HSE spec 255 tyres.

Electric Seats but no memory, all were autos, Harman Karden ICE, auto-dimming mirror.

Lightstone Leather with contrasting piping...on the Cobar Blue it was Atlantic Blue.

List Price of £47,075 was £3,400 less than the 4.6 HSE at the time.

Well that's blown Ant's theory out of the water as long as yours were factory fitted.

Auto Desels never had them factory fitted.

And as far as I know only a handful of the Manuals had them fitted as an option...but were never fitted standard to the DT range (1995 Manuals were called DSE until 1996 MY came out)

Don't think they are factory fitted somebody spent a few bob on mine before i got it. Bumper has vents cut in it.
