I have a squicking sound when I turn the wheel from the left side of the vehicle. I had the ball joint replaced several month ago and now I'm hearing that noise. Recently I started to hear a rattle noise when accelerating but does not happen all the time. I asked my wife to turn the wheels to hear the noise and it seems to be coming from the ball joints and tried to tighten then up but they are fine and I still have the noise. My wife tried to hear the noise and she said that it could be coming from the CV joint. By the way the noise stopped when I raise the vehicle, it shows only when the tire have the weigh of the vehicle.

Could it be the CV joint that is causing that noise? How can I test it to be sure it is faulty? Can the CV joint be stripped and rebuilt?

Thanks for any reply.

my cv joint only made noise when i was off the power coasting. It didnt change with steering.

Normal sympton of CV wear is clicking on lock. If they start clicking driving straight ahead it really is time to change them.

Is it possible that kind of worn with the boots like new? How do I remove the ring in the bigger side of the boot?
