How do I get Disel and Power Steering Fluid off my drive

Flaming Landrovers :D I had forgotten how often this sort of thing happens. My old drive had chippings which I could just dig up and replace. My new one has flags which my new (to me Landy) has decided to contaminate.

Dammed thing was leaking a bit of power steering fluid last week and I had planned to get it fixed this weekend. In the meantime it decided to add diesel as well :mad:

Landy is now gone to leak all over my uncles land until I get it fixed.

My drive now has several oily patches which hot water and Fairy liquid haven't shifted. It also smells of diesel.

Any ideas for getting rid of it.
 
You can buy drive cleaner from B&Q or somewhere that sells pressure washing supplies

It'll take a few goes with a hard brush and a jet wash , even then you might not get it all off
 
cat litter is amazing for this, the or any other fullers earth stuff, sprinkle a good dollop up and it will soak up the oil quite well. make sure its during dry spell though or the rain will make a right mess.

I use it all the time for jobs like this.

end of day its oil so you need strong detergent

Thank you, will try these tomorrow. With luck one of them will get rid of the smell as well.

Stupid neighbour from hell was threatening to call the fire brigade this morning. I didn't think a bit of soaked in diesel would be a fire hazard, am I wrong :confused:

I have :( and worse still a worse one moved into the other side last week. Only time he has spoken to me was to shout abuse when I parked my car on the road while swapping stuff around. It wasn't even blocking his drive.

I am planning my revenge. Haven't decided whether my 510 trailer needs to come home or if that too nice. A manky old caravan, skips or two or some scrap cars might be better :D :D

i have spakky neighbours that are inconsiderate ****ers too.
 
wickes brick cleaner ( acid type ) pour it on neat leave it fer 5 mins to fizz put a bit more on scrub vigourousley with a stiff brush then jetwash the hell out of it

thats what im gonna do with my flagged drive when i can move the tratter :D:D

or just lift out the affected flags and turn them over :behindsofa:
 
Dig the drive up, lay weed control fabric then a nice thick layer of gravel. Then when it gets dirty, just turn it over with a shovel! PLUS you get that lovely crunching sound as you drive onto it-sorted!!!!
 
Keep moving the Landrover so the whole drive becomes a uniform colour - thats what I do!

Sorry to hear about the neighbours.
Perhaps you could have a bonfire on it, that should draw the oil out of the stone.
Have you considered buying an rusty old Disco and breaking it for parts on your drive.
They'll soon miss the sight of the oil spill :D
 
Don't know where in leeds you are, but Spen Valley Bio Fuels, bowling back lane, bradford sells traffic film remover, amongst other things...
 
In my old house the neighbours either side painted (yes painted !!) there tarmac driveways, there was mine in the middle covered in oil, diesel and piles of mud where it used to fall off my truck.........they used to love me :)
