It is hard to see the regulator. What is the easiest way to check if it is leaking?

Are you talking about from underneath? From above all I can see is a mass of pipes etc.

That sounds a good idea for fuel leaks. i think if I used it for oil it would be like Blackpool illuminations!

They have dye for coolant leaks as well, good for small leaks which are evaporating

Do need to look up from underneath too & you should be able to smell diesel.

I don't think my sense of smell is that good, but do you think it will help if I pop the starter motor off?
