In theory, how submerged could a TD5 get? Obviously a snorkel would help, but what about the electrics, such as ABS sensors, and all that sort of stuff. I know its a Landrover so im guessing they should be waterproof, but are they really??

Anyone had any experiences?

The book quotes Top of the wheel hight for wading but I've had my disco with a bow wave of water over the hight of the bonnet for some 150yards. This wasn't intended to happen but never the less it had no effects the the old girl at the time or since. I have however now fitted a Mantec snorkel as I don't want to push my luck

I had my TD5 deepender static in water up to the top of the tyres (265/75/16's) on Salisbury plain for a couple of minutes while checking out depths for when the Herts crew come down. No problems with the electrics and they were definately under water.

Yes it's a 2001 manual and no it let no wet. Just be aware that starters and alternators don' t like lots of water regularly so faults may occure later on .

S'had a new set of ht leads & a fresh coil recently & it din't miss a beat fording t'other night.

I've gorra new coil pack (hundernfiftybastidquids) and new magnacore leads (eightyfookinquids) waiting to go on, hoping it will solve my problems.....
