How bad is this ?

Hi

I'm replacing the HG on my 200tdi Disco.

After bolting on the cylinder head I managed to drop 1 of the little caps that sit on the valves down the hole that the push rod goes down.

I can't see it down their.

How bad is this ? What are my options for recovering it ?

you could try an extending magnetic pickup.or one of those claw things but if that fails Camshaft out to recover the cap. Don't turn engine over until you recover it.

it is magnetic? get one of those telescopic magnets and try to get it that way, i dont know alot about land rover engines but id say get it out before you do any more. its not worth it. could mean a new engine or an hour of messing about??

it will be sat in cam gallery you can get moreacees if you remove side cover or lift pump
