Hello,

My 2.5 N/A has about 68HP, but will it have more pulling power than a ford focus with a 1.6 litre petrol engine at about 125HP?

Just curious!

Ain't the horsepower, it's the way it talk's the torque! Big pot will run rings round the fiesta which will just stall if you ask it to pull anything (including the fairer sex!)

Torquewise they are very impressive though, more than the figures indicate. I had some wood chippings to drag along the other day which weighed about half a ton, and were on a plastic sheet on the tarmac (only had to go about 100 yds) - the td did it on tickover (so basically the same as a n/a as the turbo wouldn't have kicked in at 750 or so revs) - a fiesta (etc) would have baulked at this! (even with some throttle)

Aye, yer int wrong Odey. Int the HP's (though they help), it's the way yer put them down.
We likes big pots we does, 'elps talk the torque!!!:D

Not much else has this - me old audi 2.5 had 6 cylinders, nowhere near the torque - most engines (cept actual trattas which need the torque) don't go over about half a litre a pot which is ok for normal cars!

ay, ive gotten out of mud holes at pay and plays that the V8 boys couldnt. they didnt believe i had a N/A. i had to lift the bonnet to prove it! my old grizzly claws did rule offroad though :) just not in fords :(

ai, grippa n/a soon to upgrade to a 300tdi :D around may time.

well...

were going to do it in style. London-Brighton-Morocco!

starting with the annual london to brighton run (be the 3rd time for us) head to portsmouth, La havre down through spain to Algerciers (sp.) across to Ceuta then a roughly clockwise route down, through the atlas down to erg chebbi, draa valley, todra gorges up into the atlas, down the anti atlas across tothe atlantic coast (for some fishing ;)) then back up bordering the atlas to marrakesh, meknes and fes i guess.

see how the time goes. was tempted to head down the western sahara but as were a solo vehicle and its pretty barren down there, we prob wont go there.
