My horn has stopped working. I have checked the fuse but obviously that is fine as interior light is still ok.

Any ideas what I should check first?

( I know this is simple, I will check the steering colomn stalk then the horn itself but thought i'd ask so I am better informed when I look tonight)

i think its basicly wired power from fuse (purple) to switch to horn (purple/black)
i would just pull the wire off the horn put a multimeter across to see what power is coming through if you get 12v or so the a guess at bad earth or horn is faulty.
if low volts coming through and your getting power to your stalk then i guess the switch is to blame or could be the wire feeding the horn is worn through.
well somthin glike that anyway. i'm sure someone will correct me

what vehicle have you got?

I have taken the horn off tonight. Its got black and purple wires. I used some sand paper and cleaned the connectors and reconnected it all but no joy.

I have not got a voltmeter so am scuppered!!

I wondered if there was something else I can try?

stick a 12volt lightbulb across the pur and blk wires - see if it lites up - if it duz its the horn - if it dont its wiring.

oh and follow the black back to see where it is attached to the body and clean it up.

take 2 pieces of black 1" pipework, tape them together. Wind the window down and each time you are tempted to use the horn poke these out and shout very very loud...far more effective.
