HONEST OPINIONS

What did you do/use for the extra pulley.
Thanks

That V8 one is for the serpentine belted V8 and the second alternator is fitted in place of the air-conditioning pump so no extra pulley required, but I do believe there is a different tensioner required for the AC serp belt.

The 300Tdi is simple bolt on mount and uses an AC serpentine belt to make it work.

The 200Tdi is a lot, lot more complicated and requires a different crank pulley to be fitted to the crank damper, it also mounts the second alternator in place of the AC pump on top of the timing case but as it runs a V belt configuration it has a tensioner stub that replaces the injection pump cover plate and a tensioner pulley is mounted on that to tension the belt, much more involved than either of the other two installations.

Hope that helps.

If you need pics from the 200Tdi set up I have the full Gwynn Lewis kit up stairs in the spare room ready to go on my Discovery, I'll probably do a write up on fitting it when I do it to help folks out who are thinking about fitting the second alternator.

Send the whole setup, with both sets of lights and the winch bumper to me.. I'll fit them and give you my opinions after a few months

Not sure about new fangled bits on LRs of a certain age. To me, it jars.

Now I'm no purist but I think that bits that at least appear contemporary do look better? I'll happily concede that functionality can be the deciding factor however. Equally it's your egg an' up to you what you do with it but @Weldy did ask.

All them LEDs.. might as well hang a disco ball on a fishin rod and aim some lasers at it. :p

There. Honest. I'll get me coat.
Disco ball indeed!¡!! You betta get ya coat tw@t
I do not accept your opinion

Not likely, some of us have to work for a living :p

Been considering lopping off the big A bar and dropping the light bar down onto the bumper, can easily cover the holes with a nice chequer plate bonnet cover.

Glad I work early mornings and evenings, gives me the best part of daylight for tinkering on the cars ☺.

I think moving the light bar to the top of the bumper would look a lot better. Always wondered how something like that on the bonnet would go down with insurance if you hit a pedestrian. I remember discussing witb a Jag salesman about how he'd retro fitted a non-standard leaper to his car when I was ordering mine and he did admit some insurance companies loaded the premium.

think I'd have to fit a nitro charged V8 for my premiums to go up, they just don't care, lifted, snorkel, winch & bumper no rise at all.

Old recovery motor.
The more I admitted to the lower it seemed to go.
Double winches
Roll cage
Bucket seats
Gave up filling the paperwork out. Only problem I had was I had to say it was sometimes used for business purposes.

Anything that hit me was worse off ;)

@Weldy
More big lights from my photo collection from rally days out.
Big is better :)

You've seen the light then :)

@Shimsteriom actually! Good news!! She wants me to cut 6 inches out of the A bar to lower it! And she said it will look better proportional.
Even ordered a geet big led light bar for the roof!
She said she was amazed at how bright they were last night!!
She will change her fookin mind in a month and I will be adding 6 inches back into the A bar and taking the light bar off the roof then putting her big lights back on!
That's fookin wimmens for you!!
I had my revenge planned as well!
I was going to bolt 2 table lamps on the roof for when she went out tomorrow!
But she's suprised me this morning!!! So weldy won!!!!

Error I suppose your right! She has still had the last word!! I didn't want to cut my A bar!!! Oh and there is a deal! If I paint the hallway I can have LEDS on the back to!!
So did I win or not ?????

You carry on believing you did.:rolleyes:.......whilst us and your missus know the truth....:D:D..LOL

Cheers
