home made snorkel

I can't afford a snorkel so I'm going to put a piece of 3" flexipipe directly from the air box up through the wing and up the windscreen.
problem is I want to completely blank off the side vent and drill a hole in the wing top but the heater vent is in the way. Can I ditch the air inlet to the heater and let it just take air from inside the engine compartment? with maybe a mesh cover over the end of the heater fan?. Will this effect the heater's performance(hahaha)?:blabla: or am I:5bbeatdeadhorse5:

mantec type wiv mushroom top rear wing plate has been custom adapted and has a metal circular flange welded on,so you just connect a peice of flexi pipe from yr airbox to it,

do not allow your heater to take it's air from under the bonnet.
at best the inside of your landy will stink.
worst case you will die - a leaky manifold or down-pipe will mean exhaust fumes being drawn into the cab.

would it work if I put a T piece in? one piece from me skorkel , one to the heater and the other to the air box

Doubt it.
The injun sucks a lot of air! You wouldn't get anything through yer heater.

whats sort of price u looking for it wilts ??

dunno really..they aint too much new,the only difference is the welded on plate and flange,i have a new snorkel to go on,so its only a case of getting me arse in gear and taking it off..make me an offer i can box it up and post if needed
