I like many people, I guess got the free little book with the popular LR mag last month. Found myslef in Holmfirth, having chosen an "easy one". Started down it, got to half way to find a 110 reversing backwards up the hill. "looking for a place to take tractors off road; too rough down there" the man said. Must be joking I thought, I'll give it a go. Started down the road and quickly saw the deep ruts with a heavy tilt to the right then left. had a little dabble and quicly found myself on two wheels. Got out and walked down further and found things got worse. Decided caution was a wise option given my solitary position. and reversed back. I thought this was meant to be any easy one. or am I being a wuss?

That's the problem with posting good lanes for anyone to follow easily .. the dickwads turn up and screw the lane for everyone else!

's why it's hard (OK, not hard, but awkward and time consuming), and rightly so, to find info on decent lanes.

PS, this isn't an 'offroad' issue either, should be in the greenlaning forum really ... ;)

Hi Paul, Yes that was my guess. that at the time the booklet was published, the description was probably right. But now the lane is wrecked apart from anyone with about double axle extensions. Still gave me something to talk about. Thanks.

Dont under estimate the TD5 even with side steps and a front valance, mine has been through many trails with a few scratches to prove it...

Sounds like you were on your own... a definate No No..!

get in amoungst a group who have a few bits of recovery equipment between them, then you can find out what your TD5 is made of!

Hmmm, yes, Good advice. Probably solo driving to a much lower standard than capable to keep out of trouble. Just put Billing on the Calendar today, so maybe I'll be a bit braver in the right environment. Cheers.
