Holes in rear panels on 2012 defender

hi. Has anyone come across holes appearing in 2012 defenders? Two have appeared on mine in the same exact place on opposite sides. In the rear panels near bottom of wheel arch. Near an inside body bracket. Both holes about 8 mm. Rest of paintwork immaculate.

Not sure what you mean but sounds like a spot weld has fractured away maybe?
Bit rubbish if it has but easy fix with a pop rivit.

Thanks Flossie. No spot weld. It appears the body bracket in steel is touching the aluminium panel and causing corrosion. The paint has fine pitting and the aluminium "flakey".

Photo's would help. You could drill it out a bit, dress and touch up the paint and then fit a blank grommet or similar.

how about treating them and getting a couple of those corner protectors?
