Hole under fuel tank

Hi guys

MY04 Disco2 TD5...

I've noticed a small hole (about 5mm across) on the underside of my fuel tank.

There's no leakage as it hasn't penetrated the inner skin. I'm not sure whether the outer skin is a removable/replaceable cover or whether it's part of the actual tank.

Do you think I can get away with patching it up or does the tank need replacing?

Is this an MOT fail?

I think that the part you are referring to is the tank mount plate/guard which is separate to the tank.

Tanks plastic anyway isn't it ?

I think so,christ I should know having one
