That is how it is - seat just pulls off, then undo the clip and the access panel just comes off.

F%$£ing hell! Fair enough, I've never given a thought about what might be there, but I couldn't have imagined there was a baking sheet between my arse and the fuel tank!!! Someone told me earlier in the year that they're safe, on the basis cars from the side go under a tratter. Now looks like their bonnet would push the fuel tank up through my f%$£in neck!! Jesus. No wonder I have headaches after a ten minute drive. It never clicked that there wasn't a body shell all around me.

Im surprised at your surprise. I thought anyone/everyone with a 90/ who has spent any time with a 90, knew what they were like.
On a more serious note, you shouldnt be getting a headache from it though. Although that could be from your neck disintegrating due to the wonderful suspension in a 90 ;)

That is the main reason to fit tree/rock sliders. you then have some side impact protection even if you never actually brush them up against rocks and trees.

Just to further your education do the same thing on the passenger side and report back with your findings.
Once you have done that, do the same in the middle, although this is a little more involved and the baking tray is screwed down rather than clipped in, but it will give you nice easy access to top of the gear box. which is handy if you ever have issues with the difflock or reverse switch.

Only had it 4 weeks. I love it, but I've only had normal cars before. It's just clicked what someone posted about the flintstones a few weeks back now. I've uploaded a load of pics of my btratter but I haven't looked at them all yet. I nearly bought a range rover for 20k a few months ago. A few of my rich friends have them, though they have the bespoke ones with added bit (140k). Trouble is, they embarrass the rich, common as muck, and actually, they're crap. My 90 year old pops drives a top of the range insignia. It pis$es on the range rover :p

@Mackers
Have you looked under the passenger side yet?

Don't worry about the fuel tank.
At least you don't have to remove the seat to fill up unlike a series 1 Landrover :oops:

yeah, there's a battery there. I saw that about a week after owning it, but it's in a box as in a shell of the car. I thought under the driver's side would be the same (a box to keep stuff in or whatever)

Im not quite sure of the point youre trying to make, apart from being as offensive as possible about Range Rovers for some reason and to say you know people who own them.
Which is odd, as my comment to you was not offensive.

If you own a range rover on here and you weren't being sarcastic about tratters (well sarcastic as in a form of humour), then I apologise, but I am very used to range rover owners taking the pi%$ out of my tratter on here, and you must just be an exception to the rule (unless Henry is ... the exception to the rule).

Nice.

At least there is a decent chassis rail under there, on most cars you only have a spot welded floor pan which is just as thin and your arse is about 450mm off the road!

No. I was playing banter tennis, or so I thought, with a house team member who drives an inferior model of a make of car, be it dressed up in fluff and leather, or not (as your version may be cloth)
