Hinges

they are only captive nuts in bulkhead, so if all else fails drill head of screw off ,and replace with new ,allways a good idea to put new captive nuts back with grease or such on bolt

Yeah impact driver for the ones on the bulkhead. If or once they start turning best to be brutal and use the grinder to cut them off. Even if you drill the head's of you have to cut them back a bit before you can wiggle the captive nut free. Cover all of the glass before you use the grinder

I gather you are replacing the hinges? You should be able to undo the bolts into the door. I used a 15mm drill to take the heads clean off the seized ones in the bulkhead... you can drill quite deep into the hinge is you are scrapping it.

Have you bought your hinges yet? If not I can recommend these ones... just need a couple of coats out of a tin to match your body work... they come in white as well.. Welcome to RJ Landrovers ....go to parts...90/110. These are genuine LR hinges, a couple of batches failed the paint shop tests

Go for the later TD5 ones. These have a rubber washer in the hinge joints which stops the metal to metal rubbing of the hinge which accelerates the wear and causes the big rusty streak that runs down the pillar

I used a big Phillips Screwdriver with a pair of Molegrips on the neck of the driver handle = mucho torque, opened a treat!
