Afternoon All

Had an issue earlier where the temp gauge dropped to zero but the over-temp warning light came on along with a loss of power. All was good after turning it off and back on again.

Nanocom reported a High Speed Crank fault but I am confused what this has to do with the temperature gauge o_O

Can anyone shed some light?

If I need to replace the CPS what is the consensus of the masses.... is blue bag ok or should I dig deep and buy a more expensive one?

Just checked and the price difference between Genuine and Aftermarket is unbelievable for these sensors. Never had to change mine even after 22 years and 320K kms so I can't really advise on which one to get. But the D2 has the inductive type installed and I cannot imagine what can go wrong with it unless it cracks or the wiring has been disturbed somehow (clutch replacement, removal of starter motor, etc.). If I were you, I'd run a few tests before I buy a new one - here are a few links with instructions (ignore the tests for the Hall Effect type) -

On the TD5, the sensor should produce a voltage between 2 and 3 Volts while cranking.
