high pitch noise/whine when off power coasting alonf??

Hi all, 2.5 n/a when I come of power and let it coast along in every gear it sounds like a straight cut gear box, high pitch sort of whine?? Anyone know what this is? Don't think its the ujs any ideas. Thanks! :D

is this noise developing recently? mine whines a bit from the transfer box on overrun but it's never been something that's concerned me since I had it..

Nope scince I've had it and yeh when over run it whines, so its transferbox then? Does concern me its still goes haha
 
I would recommend dropping and replacing your transfer box oil and seeing what it looks like, and what's stuck to the magnetic plug, but then again, I recommend doing that with all your oils :)
 
noise on over run is usualy diff pinion bearings ,but can also be play in intermediate gear cluster in transfer box ,removing sump and feeling for free play (in gear sides ways )play can be adjusted "just out"by tightening nut

I've just put a new input gear in mine was I'm having the same problem.
I don't have to spend my birthday pulling it all apart now.
