Hi

I used to have a lightweight and I want to get back into Landrovers, but would like a 90/Defender - I've little knowledge of diesels, what's everyones opinion on 2.5 TD, or are 200TDI's a better bet ?

Thanks
Paul

the TD had some issue but they are usually good for 140K before they start imploding - well looked after and they'll do for 200k without a big strip and rebuild - people tend to drive them too hard thus reducing their life

200s wll easily go 200k (with sensible care) - plenty around doing twice that

TD engined 90/110s will sell for much less than a 200 engined depender

200Tdi no question, but they will command a premium compared to the TD.

Main problem with the TD engine is the lack of oil sprayer on the under side of the pistons; bascially because it is an n/a with a turbo strapped on the side :)
