hi guys

im new here

im looking at getting rid of my volvo 850 t5r for a 02ish plate td5
what can i expect in the way of mpg from the 2.5tdis ?
im currently getting arround 17mpg in town and on a good run about 32mpg in my t5r which is running around 310bhp and using shell vpower

do the prices fluctuate much through out the year ?

and is there any points too look out for when buying ?

:welcome2: to Landyzone Marko.

First off the TD5 is an engine, not a vehicle type. Are you after a defender or a discovery? Are you after a Manual or auto? You should get around 20-25mpg around town in a manual TD5 and about 25-30mpg on a run.

The 02 onwards are the better ones to have as most of the teething problems had been ironed out by then.

yeah i see my error

looking at getting a discovery td5 manual

they better figures than i get now and there very very sensible driving figures spent most of the year down at 17mpg on a run and now we have the snow i havent been able to leave my culdesak in a week

and want something a bit more suited to what i now need and a fuel guzzling t5 isnt on the list any more
