Hi all,
I'm Dave, i'm the proud owner of a 1995 300TDI 90 , I say proud even though the handbreak appears to have a mind of its own and the swivel joints are leaking, no doubt due to the recent CV joint change. I won't be taking it back to that garage again!!
I brought my first landy in 2006 to complete a Suffolk to Tanzania charity trek. I found a 1989 2.5TD 110 for a reasonable price and it was a good runner even on its original engine and towing a heavy sanky. Having "africanised" it, it looked like I had covered it in glue and ram raided halfords/paddocks and brownchurch. The landy proved its self with only a few problems like the prop shaft falling off and the suspention cone collapsing, luckily my dad had some nuts and bolts a bits of metal to fix it! (My dad's 110 was a complete nightmare of overheating and lack of breaks). Sadly the 110 had to go when I moved house as it didn't have the turning circle to fit on my driveway hence the purchasing of the 90!
Having got the spanners out all the good bits from the 110 are now bolted to the newer 90.
I'm looking forward to getting solutions from the forums to my landys faults.
