Hello I have a defender tdi200 with TD5 engine and gearbox. When I go off road I tend to buy red diesel and last time I had a really bad batch. When I drained the tank I seen that the diesel separated with this white stuff at the bottom witch smelt like paint. I think this has clogged my injectors ect and my Landy won't start as I don't know much about these modern engines was seeing if somebody on here could have a look and possibly take them out for cleaning. My Landy is at home but I can take it somewhere if needed or if someone could come out I would be happy to pay there fuel plus hourly rates to fix the problem. Could do with this problem fixed soon as I need my Landy for work any help would be great cheers. Craig

For starters, if you have used red diesel, don't use that vehicle on the road again until you have thoroughly cleaned the entire fuel system. HMRC can detect the smallest trace of it in yur tank for years after you have used the red fuel.
Doing this may help with your contaminated fuel issue too!

The tank gets fully drained when I leave the site and white put back in I usually make a day of off-roading hence the red but it's been fine in the past when I filled it up last time within a couple of minutes it was playing up that's when I drained it and noticed it

Would have thought the £20ish saving your makeing by running red off road for a day isnt worth the hastle of draining and flushing the system at the side of the road
That of cause if your not running more than that ;)
Just be careful vosa regularly stop offroaders for a dip test and you'll lose your car and get a huge fine
Once spoke to someone about that and I was told they can detect 1 drop in 1000liters

I know what use are saying I know it's not worth the 20 quid saving but your answers aren't relevant to my question am asking if someone can help me not have a go and act like my mother

Well, Im not coming to drain and clean your tank, it is 700 miles from here. I do know the area though, and it is a big place. You are more likely to get physical help if you post a more precise location.
Also, a mention of beer tokens, or at the very least tea and cake, might get a better response.;)

is it really an LZIR job though? urgent maybe but immediate response needed? I dont think so.:emps1:

It's not the tank am asking to get cleaned out I can do that myself if people would read it first it all about my injectors ect and I thought there would be someone in my area on this that could help and am offering cash not tea and cakes

would have thought a length of pipe, a big gob, sucking for england would empty a tank,
fresh "white" then at the noisey end, more length of smaller pipe & sucking for england, then priming would eventually cleared the system of a black bog let alone some durty anti vosa red crap..

but what do I know ;)

Even the current Mrs bushwwacker has just asked why in the name of the Soup Dragon are you running cherry? ...
