hi had my freelander 2001 1.8 for three months and now she leaking coolant from the inlet manifold she has had a new head gasket 8 months ago so i am going to put a new manifold. i saw one on ebay new thats fits rover streewise 1.4 they look the same will it fit my freelander and whats the diffrent between black injectors and blue injectors thanks ian

I don't have a 1.8 myself BUT leaking coolant from the inlet manifold!! How does that happen if the inlet manifold doesn't contain any coolant? Sounds more like a crack in the head.. :(

sorry a leak in the inlet manifol gasket so i thinking of a new gasket and manifold i am new with feelanders used to the old series landys my baby 1964 109 ffr being sanded for a respray thanks ian

Ah, just check with Haynes. Seems there is a coolant connection to the manifold. Is this a cheekie way of making a coolant connection to the head per chance. Anyhow, you are probably right to suspect this gasket. Good luck.

there is a later spec (upgraded gasket) available, i dont think new type is always included in gasket sets, there is also some thoughts on replacing the fancy inlet manifold securing nuts for good old fashion nyloc nuts, it probably does not need a manifold, but pay particular attention to bleeding the cooling system properly before starting the engine.
