Hi There to all the fanatics into all things great and land rover.. Has anyone out there got or have been running their Diesel Rover either a 2.5 n/a or 300 tdi on bio diesel as im seriously considering running mine on this enviro friendly fuel..

Any info will be a help re the conversion and engine life..

Cheers Matt

Hi, i've been running my TD (same ish as your 2.5) on "bio" fuel for over 10K with no ill effects that i can put down to the use of it - the conversion was a bit of a complex issue that required a trip to the local Tesco, the purchase of a quantity of their cheapest veg oil and then pouring it into the tank.

Generally - The colder the weather the higher the normal/veg oil ratio should be as it'll need a bit more turning over to start - i've run with 80% veg oil on many occasions. Change your fuel filter after the first 200 miles and every 2-3000 there after as it tends to degunk the lines.

Register with HMCE as a bio fuel user, enjoy the extra power and smooth running that will come from using veg oil, book an extra weeks holiday in sunny broadstairs with the money saved.
