I am just in the process of buying a 2009 Freelander2 TD4 XS automatic 140000 miles I am told is a Peugeot engine and am concerned if this is a good match to the auto box Peugeot auto cars seem to drag on gear change. I would also appriciate any other tips you Guys can offer?

You have the DW12 pug engine in yer FL2. It's a good reliable engine.

Could be a lot worse. Years ago LR used rover engines where possible. Also some of their own creations. Not always their finest hour. The D3/4 got a pug engine anorl but that snaps crancks. The FL2 got the best engine of them all.
