Hi Folks, just returned to the LR fold after 8 years away with a foreign "thing", which was, er, frankly, carp.:D

So, we got shut. Thought long and hard about what to get - maybe another foreign thing, but then we saw the light !!

I passed my driving test in a IIA, then we had a III, then a 90, then I got posh and had several RRC's - then an D1 300TDi auto, which we absolutely loved - it was superb, and was no trouble at all - it only ever had maintenance. It was probably a big mistake to move it on at 100,000 miles.. but we live and learn.
With heinsight, it definitely was, as the "thing" had only done 65K, and was :censored:. I see plenty of D1's with that mileage combined, and they are still going...

Anyway, we have just bought a D1 300 TDi S, Auto, with EDC, 109,000 on the clock, and in what appears to be good general order.

We are Buxton Derbys, and I am looking forward to picking folk's brains, and hopefully voiceing an opinion or two, too!

Thanks for reading

Ow Do Sim,

I'm not far from you, in them thar 'ills near Tideswell.

If you fancy getting the old Disco dirty keep an eye on the Peak Lanes thread in the green laning section.
We get out quite often and it's not all about scratchy lanes and rocky climbs! :D
There are plenty of nice easy lanes round here where the worst that may happen is your tyres might get muddy:eek: but you'll get to see the countryside from a different perspective.

Ey Up!!

Too Old and knackered for proper laning, but might be interested in a gentle "jaunt"... will have a nosy at the thread. Thanks for that.

Hello and welcome back

Thanks!

It feels really good to be back - we only bought this D1 on monday, and driving it back, it just feels "right"

(ok, it needs bushes, shocks and springs, but....)

And there is less rust on it than the 8 year old foreigner we got rid of!!
