Hi, I’m new to the forum and I’m holing to get some help please!?
I’ve had various Land Rovers over the years ranging from Series to Discovery’s to early and later classic Range Rovers.
My daily driver is a 2001 Discovery 2 TD5 that I’ve had for a number of years. I went to go out in it on Saturday only to find it wouldn’t respond to the key. I got the spare and had the same issue. I changed the battery in the ‘main’ key only to find the same thing. Both the main and spare flash the red light on pressing the buttons so I assume they are working properly. I unlocked the car manually but the car is still alarmed and immobilised and the alarm went off when I opened the door. No matter what combinations of locking and unlocking the car manually, the car remains alarmed and immobilised, unlocking the car manually stops the alarm sounding until I open the door. This has happened completely out of the blue and I’ve had no issues with it before, the car is automatic (if this makes any difference) and I’d welcome any thoughts and suggestions on how to remedy this, apart from throwing a match under it. Thank you in advance.

They're a strange lot in the disco section. Try not to make eye contact with them.
