hi i am a new member and just thought i would introduce myself. I am a student at university doing a BA Hons degree in Social Science and became a landrover owner last september after years of owning volvos. dont know if i have made the right choice as i have spent a fortune on this landy. withing a few weeks of buying it the ird went so as i could afford nearly a grand had it converted to two wheel drive kept the prop shaft so that one day i can restore it to its former glory. But i suppose thats what happens when you buy a vehicle you are not used to. looking forward to lots of chat and friendly advice.

defo a mad house but thanks all for taking the time to add your posts. I will keep you all guessing as to whether or not i am built the same way as dolly

welcome to the forum dolly, you need a little bit of a thick skin to survive on here, but that said, all the answers are here.

hope you stay around long enough to find the forum useful

i plan to i am one of those strange people who like to find out all i can about my vehicle not your typical blonde who forgets to put petrol in their car and dont worry i am thick skinned i can take what ever banter comes my way

what do you drive oddie. i would so love a brandnew range rover but being a student i will just have to dream on. maybe one day when i have made my millions i will buy a whole fleet of landrovers of various models. naw will just buy a hummer and move to america

:welcome: to lz dolly.

Haha!

I have a clapped out rusty draughty cold noisy clattery thirsty antisocial unreliable 90 - gaylander envy is commonplace here! (to the point where we ridicule them by calling them gaylanders!)

Oh...yer not allowed to mention Hummers on here without a photo of you. Sorry, it's the rules!

Hi Dolly.
Ref your rear propshaft you will probably find that the viscous unit is knackered (the big round bit in the middle)which probably knackered the I.R.D.in the first place get it checked out before you put it back on or bang go's another I.R.D.
Bounce on.
Regards Terry.

but if shes gone into mono mode will she have had the ird replaced?

ird was reconditioned into 2 wheel drive sent it to an engineering firm in england. i know all about the vcu and that is why i went to two wheel drive couldnt afford to replace both ird and vcu. think it a bit silly that landrover made the vcu a sealed unt would have made sense to make it refillable dont you think. I also have the three amigo problem but know how to remedy that i hope it supposed to be a sensor near the gear lever correct me if i am wrong anybody. well back to my uni work got a presentation on mr Franklin D Roosevelt due on Monday and it wont write itself. will check back later for further replys. thanks guys
