My recent purchase felt inspired, but it is a hippo at 125k, so I'll have oil under my nails for some time.
Tried to check as much as possible before purchase, but miles from home in the rain. Engine runs, VCU present and not locking up while reversing. You pay your money you take your chance...
Not driven far yet, haha. Giving it some up front TLC on the drive.
Belts replaced, AC belt was ripe and full of shards from the Crank pulley (ordered). Knuckles sore, but I now have a new 24mm spanner and know where it goes, with out so much
Done my BMW breather seperator, EGR blanked with stainless bypass.
Nearly completed a service... Turns out the oil filter needs a 36mm socket? More fool me for watching a YouTube vid and not noticing the mechanic realise it wasn't 32, I will own a 36mm socket too, later today...
I have eventually got the under tray off and modified to allow oil changes, feel free to tell me I shouldn't, prepared to replace along with the other covers and trim I guess is missing from places.
If any of you kind souls have pics of what should be there in the arches, bay and underneath, or a quick pointer to find the right thread.
I have pretty tired looking air hoses, and hope to silicone the lot, but I'm sure I will find more pressing matters as I go, I'm sure the fuel pump by the OSR wheel is moaning too much. And my bottom arms look ready for replacement.
Soon I will be able to go for a spin and find out how it drives, or not. And so the love affair begins .
Now to go look up MAF and boost solenoid.
