Hevac testbook

Have had testbook coming up on and off for some time. Have had only partial illumination of switches for some time. Sunday the back light on the Hevac failed so decided to strip and replace bulbs. All now lit up like Blackpool lumis. And best of all testbook gone. So it would appear just a blown Hevac bulb can bring it on. Please note all the continuous testbook sufferers.

That's a new one on me....I don't remember seeing a "Bulb blown" fault on the fault menu.
Perhaps that's also the answer to EAS, ABS, Immobilised, EKA , Overheating and other
P38 problems.

Forget the Faultmate, Synchmate, Test Book etc. guys..Just carry a bag of spare bulbs !!

Or could it be that disconnecting the HEVAC head unit has forced a reset when it was reconnected??????

Maybe, i don't know, just know that now i have lit switches and backlight it has gone. Maybe forget Faultmate,Synchmate, Testbook and just unplug your hevac then reconnect it. Hevac does a self test and reset everytime ignition is turned on. Don't know, but in my case it worked so it's bound to be worth a thought.

ive got a blown bulb on my hevac which has got to be changed sooner or later, could you tell me the bulb type you used or part number? Thanks.

You can try GLB286 as a part number. But i just whipped them out and threw them on the local factors counter. And asked them to match em. They have black plastic cases and are 12 volt 1.2 watt. The backlight bulb is same thing but a green casing as i fitted a 2 watt bulb 1.2 a bit dim for backlight. The actual bulb quoted in rave for back light is 14 volt 1.4 watt but could not get any of those. A main stealer should know which bulbs to give you.
