Hi all,
Connected new Nanocom to my 1999 4.6 HSE to see why book symbol is illuminated on HEVAC screen.
Nanocom showing the following fault :-
L/H Blower motor stop mode fault ( Current ).
I take it this means the L/H blower is knackered, can anyone confirm please.

Hi Datatek,
Thanks for the reply, I will check it out tomorrow and see whats happening. Air appears to be coming from all vents, do both fans fead all vents or, one left and one right ?

you will still get air coming through all vents with just onr blower working. pull the pollen filters out and you can see the blowers spining through the hole, if youre not sure just tentativly put something like a length of bamboo in, it will catch the fins and you will soon know if its working.the blowers fail when the pollen filters dont get changed for a few years,

Thanks for all info.
Bought the car 12 months ago and when I changed the pollen filters they were black.
The book symbol has been on since I bought it but only got around to looking at it recently now I have a Nanocom. Will check it out tomorrow.

the problem with the filters is because the plastic covers leak, the filters get wet and blocked, causing the blowers to burn out. the covers need sealing properly , u can use silicon if you clean the area well, a better option is a non drying bedding sealant.

Datatek,

Blowers can be controlled by Nanocom but not individually :suspicious:
Nanocom now reporting:-
L/H blower motor high side of regulation circuit fault (permanent).
Is the regulation circuit built into the motors or a seperate unit ?
Can't play at the moment as it's p*****g down.

Rain stopped for a few minutes so took out pollen filter and checked the L/H blower.
Not working at all, going to get a replacement off ebay and fit when it stops raining.

Sounds like the speed control has failed, possibly repairable if you are into electronics:)

before u buy a new one, hotwire the one you have just to make sure its knackered, the live is easy to spot its right on the end of the motor, just take the 3 or 4 screws out from inside the glovebox and you can see the motor is very accessable, lucky for you its the lh one

just a thought, you have checked the relay hasnt burnt out?each blower works off a seperate relay, swop them round just to make sure the fault doesnt change sides.
