Britpart!! Get your motor sorted! Things like changing UJ's should be natural using a shackel and a hammer swapping Balljoints and wheel bearings all in the field if you want to do the African thing. You'll be fine! Don't worry you'll sus it out soon enough you have a task on your hands. Dunno what your going to do about your fuel leak because I hate them issues and thats a deffo MOT fail.

????????????????????

I mean to do work in th efield using whatever tools you have with you I don't reckon you should carry a vice with you when you head off to Africa or Mongolia. there is ALWAYS a way reccommened by LR or Not.

Give me a Drop Arm Anyday! Sure beats trying to get an old Toyota Hylux started in -22C, a 3 foot snow drift which has to be cleared before building a small fire under the engine to warm it up and unfreeze the crap diesel (note small not enough to destroy the vehicle) and shocking the starter motor with rebar to un freeze it.

Fact is a ball joint won't fail you get loads of warning same with a drop arm a UJ yea you get warning but thats your driveline an if that breaks up or fails you could cause horrendus damage or be stuck in a right old bad situation better to swap it out can be done a few methods I used a shackel sockets and a hammer as I needed it done and had no transport also to see how easily it could be done in case I ever had to the answer was its not too bad and I'm happy that I could do that in th e****ing rain or mid day sun if I HAD to.

Britpart is in Stevenage ind estate if you want parts on the day not delivered?
The jobs you have LRJ are quite easy depends if the bearing has welded it's self to the hub or not? And the drop arm is seized solid if not then it should take half a day. Good luck!! Would offer to help but spraying my landy over the weekend so bit busy sorry.

Jai
let me know details on thetford - are we going to meet and go in convoy?
what time etc thx

Not too sure where we will be on Sunday, May have done Thetford Saturday and will be further towards the coast. I will have a better idea of where we will be after consulting with me maps later. Will possibly be a Campsite or Service station somewhere.....

Thats about as accurate as i can be for the time being....
