I reckon you'll snap ya chassis before that!

I'm budgeting on a new chassis within the next 3 years. It'll be a custom Richards job with all the modifications that I need before it's galvanised and I'll get them to fit it. I'm not set up to swap a chassis, plus they can turn it around in a week and after all it's only money.

Of course this all means that when he DOES get stuck.... there's no one well enough equipped to go in there and get him out!

That's why I've got that little winch on the front. I'm considering putting one on the back too, sometimes you want to come out backwards.

Sounds good! The only trouble is will you ever reach the point where you have all the modifications you need (want)?;)

On the wish list at present is jackable rock sliders, there's a guy at Rocky Mountain that I met at Billing last year that's supposed to be making some, so that's a near possibility.

A roll cage I think would be a prudent idea, probably at the same time as the chassis as it'll be far easier and have something more substantial to fix to.

Whether to change to 200tdi is another question, again maybe at the same time as the chassis.

I'm still to fit the front parabolic springs that are sitting in the garage, but I need help with them.

Cost will be pretty much the same as going out and buying a decent Defender, but that's boring, anybody can do that.

I'm going to sell the Series 1, not because of the money but because I really don't have the time needed to do it as well as keep the Series 3 running and playing with it. Carol wants me to buy a Lexus SC for her and I also need the space it's occupying on the drive.

Sounds great, I like your style. I would say if you need somewhere to work on it you're welcome but think I'm a bit too far away.

Had a semi rescue well mark in his new to him td5 disco puncture in Tring went and took him a jack when I got there the jack was under the bonnet oops!!! Much **** taking later he still had an iffy locking wheel nut and a flat spare!!

All sorted now and new tyre brought. Mucho **** taking tho!!

Jai, are you still up for some lanes this weekend? spitfire said he might come along, he'll need someone to rescue him when he gets stuck.

I know its cheeky but is any of you local lot interested in 2.6t bottle jacks? Got a few from when I worked in vehicle salvage, came off the Mercedes Sprinters.

Got a few of them, £25 each. Great for lifting Landys, taller than the original jacks too. All in VGC if not new, come with the handles in a bag...
